Colts Neck Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps

MOST OUTSTANDING UNIT IN THE NATION

2019 & 2023

Freshman Competition

In early March, our unit hosted a Naval Science 1 athletic, academic, and drill competition. It was a chance for first-year cadets to showcase what they have learned so far this year. Our freshman cadets also competed in a drone event that was not part of the overall score. This entailed cadets to maneuver their drones through an obstacle course made up of hula hoops, high top tables, and standard drone obstacles. We are very proud of our freshman cadets for placing in multiple events including, armed and unarmed platoon drill, academics, UPI, and PT and for taking first place overall.

Freshman STARS Trainer Trip

In early February, twenty freshmen cadets got the chance to visit the S.T.A.R.S. Monmouth Country Sherrif training building. The S.T.A.R.S. training facility is meant to give live and realistic simulations for authorities to practice their awareness skills, weapon skills, and quick-thinking abilities that can ultimately save lives. Cadets got the chance to try out the interactive training screen which gave cadets scenarios that they had to de-escalate. Some of the scenarios consisted of a child trying to rob a store, a noise complaint at a party, a protest in a political building, and much more.

1st Overall for Academics

Our Academic team placed first overall for academics at the Area 4 Championship. The Colts Neck NJROTC Academic squad hasn't placed first for academics at this competition for nine years - until now. We are quite pleased with our progress. In an effort to keep getting better, our teams are beginning to get ready for the Navy Nationals in the spring.

   Area Manager        Inspection

On 9, February, 2024, our unit held its annual Area Manager Inspection. Over two-hundred cadets completed inspection, marched the ceremony and watched our combined drills teams that followed. During the ceremony our unit honored graduating seniors on a well accomplished four years in the NJROTC program at Colts Neck Highschool. In addition to the ceremony, our unarmed and armed exhibition drill teams and freshman drill team had the opportunity to present their routines infront of NJROTC parents and fellow cadets. Following the ceremony cadets sat down for a delicious meal provided by our wonderful parents club. We are very pleased to announce that all of our cadets passed the inspection, Bravo Zulu cadets!
